Deepwater Experiential Education Project

DEEP is a not-for-profit organization which provides funding and other resources for young people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to participate in wilderness education programs.

We believe that wilderness education is an important element in the development of inspired, empowered and compassionate leaders. Young people learn not only physical skills in the wilderness-they learn to build and shape communities, to develop leadership and communication skills, and to cross the bridge from adolescence into adulthood.

We see guided wilderness education as one of the best paths to positive change and personal growth in a young person's life and we support young men and women who lack the financial resources to follow this path. It is our hope that the young people we help will contribute positively to the program they attend as well as apply what they have learned to their communities back home.

"It was a wonderful experience that I will always reember, and it would not have been possible without your help. I want to sincerely thank you and let you know that the financial aid you provide for those who need it is wisely invested." - Joy, age 17
