How To Apply

Applications are accepted between January and April of each year and are reviewed monthly by a selection committee. The deadline for applications is April 15. We strongly encourage applicants to apply as soon as they know they need funding. Awards are made based on the resources available in a given funding cycle and the need demonstrated by the applicant.

To be awarded a scholarship, applicants must show

• financial need
• keen interest in gaining leadership skills and experience
• willingness and ability to make strong contributions to the program they attend
• desire to take lessons from their experience home to positively contribute to their own communities.

Responses are sent to applicants within six weeks of the date we receive a complete application. A complete application includes:

1. Completed application form with signature of applicant and parent or guardian
2. Answers to profile questions listed on the application.
3. Complete financial information as requested on application
4. Recommendation from an adult who is willing to meet both before and after the program if the student is funded. DEEP will provide the adult mentor with assistance in conducting interviews. Mentors should feel free to contact the office for more information about this important part of the application process.

All applicants for scholarship must also submit an enrollment application directly to the program they wish to attend. Please contact us if we can help identify a program that will most closely meet your needs.
